The church they both love brought them together, but could it also tear them apart?

Dolores “Dodie” Hansen has been dealt a difficult hand in life. Her son has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and her marriage has fallen apart as a result. Forced to move back to her hometown of Meadowbrook, Dodie is determined to make a life for herself and her son.

Enter new minister Christopher Tanner: dynamic from the pulpit but painfully shy one-on-one. Drawn to the plight of Dodie and her son, Chris is determined to do whatever he can to help. As the two become closer, a relationship begins to blossom between them.

But in a town as gossip ridden as Meadowbrook, no good can come from a relationship between a divorced woman and a minister, right?

New Mercies is an inspirational romance full of faith and emotion that will touch your heart and fill you with hope. If you enjoyed Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook or Jojo Moyes’ Me Before You, you’re sure to love New Mercies.

“New Mercies” is an enjoyable romance novel that catches your heart early on and keeps you interested as you come to know the main characters, single-mom Delores and shy new minister Chris Tanner.

The author did a nice job of allowing us to get to know Delores and Chris by how they interact with one other and with the other residents of Meadowbrook. In fits and starts, despite an awkward beginning when their heads collide as they both reach to pick up a bag, their friendship matures. They find strength in one another, and ultimately romance blossoms despite gossip from busy-body town folks.

I love second chances and Christian romances. This book fulfilled those two items. This book is a little shallow, but still a good read. Just a couple of minor typo’s, like to instead of too. I imagine it is hard to not have any typos at all. I enjoyed the characters for the most part, though Dodie did get on my nerves a time or two. But if you are looking for a clean romance with some Christianity thrown in, then sit back and enjoy.

I found this book to be such a refreshing read ! This is a touching romance full of compassion as it takes you on a journey of life’s ups and downs with Delores, a single mother of a special needs child. She struggles within herself through each peril of her journey to overcome the rejection, the gossip of the small town where she lives, her fears of trusting to love again. Should she attempt to love again with a Minister who shares her same beliefs ?
This author has a masterful way of pulling you into each character and into the story so deep you just want to help them !
It gives out a ray of hope to anyone who has endured one of Delores hardships and most all of us have as the story is so true to real life.
The classification of this book is a Christian romance but I believe anyone would feel uplifted after reading this sweet romance.
