Hello! My name is

Julia Colquitt Allen

I write heartfelt fiction about people facing life's hardest seasons and finding the courage to move forward. My stories explore love, loss, family, hope, and the quiet resilience of ordinary people whose lives don't always unfold according to plan. I am currently at work on new stories that explore the choices, sacrifices, and legacies that shape a life. I believe some of the most powerful stories are found not in extraordinary people, but in ordinary people asked to endure extraordinary things. I live in Northeast Texas with my husband of nearly 40 years. In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, crocheting, and spending time with my family.

    Running from the Storm

Grief brought Chandra Fenimore to northern Mexico, where teaching at a remote mission school offers a chance to begin again after the loss of her parents. There she encounters Andrew Gunderson—a man defined by wreckage.

Andrew has spent two years running from the ghosts of his past. Anger is easier than grief. Work is safer than hope. Trusting God feels impossible.

As Andrew slowly lowers the walls he’s spent years building, Chandra begins to see the man hidden beneath his anger. But when danger forces Andrew to confront his past, the fragile hope growing between them is put to the test.

Both Andrew and Chandra must choose whether they’ll keep running from the storms behind them—or trust God to lead them through the storm ahead.
